Refugee Class for Professionals in Arts and Design

Dear Refugee, are you an artist, designer, or a professional in other creative fields? Are you looking to network with fellow artists and to connect with experts from relevant German businesses and institutions? The University of the Arts Berlin Career College invites Refugees to a free Refugee Class for Professionals in Arts and Design. The goal of the class is to familiarize you with the landscape of creative professions in Germany and to give you access to helpful professional connections and knowledge.

 

Module 1 – Orientation and Networking

In the week from February 29 to March 4, we will offer introductions to the following topics:

 
Monday, February 29, 2016
2 – 4 pm – Big Data in Creativity
4 – 6 pm – Independent art as a professional field

Tuesday, March 1, 2016
2 – 4 pm – Communication
4 – 6 pm – Film and TV

Wednesday, March 2, 2016
2 – 4 pm – Concept- and Idea-Development
4 – 6 pm – Multimedia journalism

Thursday, March 3, 2016
2 – 4 pm – Music
4 – 6 pm – Design

Friday, March 4, 2016
2 – 4 pm – Basics: Design-Research, Online Education, Self-management, Law


The program will be held in English and/or German. If participants are interested, there will be networking events, introductions to specific sectors (for example through site and company visits), and project work. The workshop is designed for professionals with or without a university degree. We are happy to issue a certificate of participation.
