Yorgos Konstantinou & Eva Hilhorst: Draw for your life! - Drawing as a language in times of AI
Berlin, 10/11/12/13 June 2024
A 4-day workshop with a focus on cartooning, graphic journalism and graphic harvesting. On the first day we will get to know each other by playing and communicating with our drawing tools. We will react and interact using the VISUAL LANGUAGE of drawing. The next three days we will walk around three fields where drawing is used in a professional way: 1) Cartoon: A single drawing conveys a simple message, loud and clear - or visual poetry that arouses the imagination of the viewer. 2) Graphic journalism: Share your reality in a multi-layered way: stories, experiences and context explained visually. 3) Graphic harvesting: Listening and drawing at the same time is a professional skill that can be lucrative. During these days we will share knowledge, experience and imagination, investigating the spaces in and around those fields.
We want to enable a safe environment where each and all can have their creative spaces, where expression, dialogue and exchange are the tools for learning.
Facilitators: Eva is a visual storyteller, she works as graphic journalist and is the editor
of Yorgos is a visual engineer, working as cartoonist, illustrator and graphic harvester at
