Artist Training DIGITAL BASICS – MUSIC coaching program
“Navigating Music Careers in Exile” by Ganna Gryniva and Geraldine Hepp
Navigating Music Careers in Exile is offering a mix of workshops, mentoring and network sessions to musicians in exile from all genres and disciplines based in Berlin. The training modules and networking sessions are adapted to participants' needs, aimed at achieving concrete next steps in their music careers which will be explored in a first session on June 16th from 14:00-18:00 followed by a jam session with musicians from previous cohorts and friends at Donau115 Jazz Club Berlin on June 19th. In the week of June 19th - 23rd, participants will visit consulting bodies such as Music Pool Berlin, Music Board, Berlin Music Commission and Landesmusikrat Berlin while exploring their next steps and a final performance opportunity on June 30th at Panda Platforma in conversation. In the week of June 26th -30th participants will have individual or small-group mentoring sessions with Ganna and Geraldine according to their needs and to support in developing participants’ individual strategies and networking skills. Participants will also continue to work on their performance ideas in exchange with the visual artists from the artist-training program who will exhibit works at Panda Platforma the same night.
The supervisor team brings extensive experience and expertise both in the music sector and larger creative industry and art networks in Germany and globally, with Ganna Gryniva, a singer, composer, pianist and activist with Ukrainian and German heritage who has toured extensively in Europe and beyond and Geraldine Hepp, a facilitator, experience designer and creative producer with Alaskan and German background who has lived and worked on five continents.
The workshops and excursions, individual consultations and the final performance event will take place on the following dates. Please note some of the dates are to be confirmed. This program is being held in English (and Ukrainian if necessary).

The DAAD project Artist Training DIGITAL BASICS is a qualification program at the UdK Berlin Career College for exiled artists. The teaching goals of the continuing education programs are networking in the local cultural and creative industries, strategic positioning in the respective artistic orientation and establishing oneself in the job market.
Since 2016 the Artist Training provides 47 courses containing information and contacts for about 700 artists in exile and creatives from the following fields: music, culture and media, fine arts, performing arts, and film. Networking events facilitate connections within the respective artistic sectors, while consulting activities examine in depth individual situations.
